At the V. K. Memorial Library and Reading Room, our primary concern is benefiting the student community in every possible way. The association’s management committee consists of teachers who have served academia for over 2 or 3 decades. To help students and their parents navigate through the most confusing career decisions, we conducted a series of career counselling sessions for 2 months.
The students who had appeared for the SSC and HSC boards were invited for the sessions along with their parents. As expected, a handful of students who belonged to the reading room attended the sessions. The experts for each session were chosen based on their expertise in the relevant field. For HSC students, the highlight of the session was a focus on professional courses of CA/CS and CMA. Apart from these professional courses, other courses based on MHCET were highlighted to students and their parents.
The parents of SSC students were more enthusiastic and inquisitive. The domains of science, commerce and arts were explored with them, and what dream one had to achieve and which stream could lead to that destination were the major points of discussion during this session. The parents were very happy and gave positive feedback to the initiative taken by the association.
Bridges help meet two ends, and Vidya-setu was conducted with the specific intention to help the ends meet through this academic bridge.
